Triumph’s open luxury touring secret is now officially out in the open, with the 2013 Trophy SE unveiled at the Tri-Days gathering in Austria and expected to go on sale in Australia later this year for $27,990.
Powered by the same 1215cc triple as the Explorer adventure bike, the shaft-driven Trophy SE has a full cupboard of features including ride-by-wire, electronic suspension adjustment, integrated audio ABS linked brakes, traction control, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system and more.
The engine delivers a 134hp at 8900rpm and 120Nm of torque at 6450rpm, and service intervals are every 16,000km -- with major ones every 32,000km. Fuel capacity is 26 litres.
The electrically adjustable screen can raise 16.4cm and comes with a memory function that automatically adjusts to your last preset position when you restart the bike. Rider and pillion passenger comfort is further enhanced with a range of accessories seats in varied heights as well as a heated front and rear seat option. The standard rider seat height can be adjusted between 800-820mm.
The adjustable electronic suspension is from suspension specialist WP, which is operated via an ergonomically designed switch cube. Riders select their preferred damping setting -- Sport, Normal or Comfort -- and combine it with the bike’s loading – Solo, Solo plus luggage or two-up -- and then review their settings via a dot matrix LCD screen.
The new Trophy SE will remain on display at Tridays until June 24, and will make a further appearance at Triumph Live event at Mallory Park, Leicestershire, which starts on August 31. The international press launch is planned for early September, 2012.
Available in two colours, Pacific Blue and Lunar Silver, the Trophy SE has 31-litre colour-match panniers featuring Triumph Dynamic Luggage System (TDLS) as standard.
