
Australia -- Kyle Middleton, Tim Coleman, Neil Price and Boyd Willcocks – has finished fourth in the International Trophy (group B) division at the 2013 Trial des Nations (TdN), which was held on September 8-9 in La Chatre, France.
Australia Battle hard with America the whole way for the final podium spot, but fourth place still amounted to a three-spot improvement on the 2012 result for the Aussie men.
Germany come out on top in the International Trophy, but only by a mere five marks over runner-up the Czech Republic. It was Germany's seventh win in the division, which was first introduced in 1995.
Meanwhile, under clear blue skies the mighty Spanish team won the premier division for the 10th time in a row, running out an easy winner. Captained by recently crowned individual world champion Toni Bou (pictured), Spain’s winning margin was a massive 89 marks over Great Britain after two laps of 18 dry and dusty sections. This was the 20th time that Spain team has won the competition in 30 attempts.
Britain last won the famous trophy back in 2003, and 2013 marks the fifth year in a row that it has finished second.
Host nation France was third—its first TdN podium since 2001. Italy and Norway were fourth and fifth.
