Suzuki's latest Lites motocross rocket, the 2013 RM-Z250, is due to touch down in Australian dealerships in roughly a week's time, and will be priced at $10,890.
The latest incarnation of the model sports a revised powerplant, a new five-speed transmission, Showa's Separate Function Fork, a new exhaust system, a refined frame and seat and new graphics.
The fuel-injected, 249cc, single-cylinder powerplant features a lighter piston, a reshaped piston pin and revised cam specification, and it's been mated to an all-new five-speed transmission. Along with a new exhaust system that meets tough new FIM sound regulations, Suzuki says the end result is better mid-range power and torque, better throttle response, and faster acceleration.
The chassis mods and 48mm Showa SFF fork, meanwhile, are said to deliver optimised handling and stability.
Suzuki says racers who intend to campaign the new model in either state or national motocross or supercross championships are eligible to register for Suzuki's Support Rider Program, which offers contingency payments for top-performing Suzuki racers.
