The extensively updated 2013 model Suzuki Burgman 650 maxi scooter is now on sale in Australia for $13,590.
The machine has all-new styling, reduced weight and improved fuel economy, while maintaining its 638cc, fuel-injected, twin-cylinder powerplant.
Features include new lightweight ABS (55 per cent less than its predecessor), a powered height adjustable screen, electrically retractable mirrors, DC power socket, 50-litre under-seat storage compartment, multi-reflector headlights, dual multi-reflector tail light, all-new triangle section muffler, adjustable rider backrest.
Reworked transmission settings and reduced mechanical losses contribute to increased fuel economy, with the Burgman's engine claiming to use 15 per cent less fuel than the previous model in drive mode. The automatic transmission adjustable by a push of a button on the handlebar, allowing riders to choose between three different modes: two fully automatic (Drive and Power) and Manual.
For increased security, the Burgman 650 is equipped with a Suzuki Advanced Immobiliser System (SAIS), and also a magnetic cover over the ignition switch which only opens with the correctly coded key.
