2013 R 1200 GS

BMW Motorrad will unveil its updated R 1200 GS in Cologne on October 2, with the INTERMOT trade fair also set to showcase the new F 700 GS and HP4
BMW Motorrad’s adventure doyen, the R 1200 GS, is about to turn the page yet again, with a “successor model” to be unveiled in Cologne on October 2 – the press day for the INTERMOT trade fair before dors are opened to the public.
Details are scant on the updated model, but we’ll know in a month how BMW intends to keep ahead of its big-bore travel enduro competition, with yet more rivalry expected in 2013 in the form of the Aprilia Caponord.
But the R 1200 GS is unlikely to deviate dramatically from the building blocks which have made it such a popular machine, with the torquey Boxer engine at the heart of the matter.
Meanwhile, BMW Motorrad will also debut two other models at INTERMOT: the F 700 GS and HP4.
The Bikesales Network will be running full coverage on INTERMOT, as well as the EICMA motorcycle trade fair in Milan from November 15-18.
