Husaberg has unveiled a long-overdue addition to its enduro ensemble – the FE250.
It’s the first 250cc four-stroke model from the KTM-owned manufacturer, and features Keihin fuel-injection with a 42mm throttle body and “integrated temperature and altitude compensation”.
There’s a double-cradle central tube frame made from lightweight chrome-molybdenum steel; a new subframe made from fibreglass-reinforced polyamide; and a closed-cartridge fork from WP which is claimed to offer better damping at full suspension travel compared to conventional systems. Rebound and compression damping can be adjusted at the upper end of the fork legs.
Other models in the 2013 Husaberg enduro line-up include the FE350, which is making a return to the fold after a long absence, the FE450, FE501, as well as the three two-strokes: TE125, TE250 and TE300.
Here are some other technical features:
All Husaberg engines, except for the unit of the TE 125, are equipped with electric start. Furthermore, the TE250 and TE300 also come with a kickstarter fitted as standard.
The engine cases for the 450/501 are manufactured -- as they are on the FE350 -- using a high-pressure die-casting process, resulting in significantly reduced wall thicknesses but with the same stability. Thus, together with the weight savings on the piston, connecting rod and balancer shaft, the weight of the engine has been reduced by 2kg.
The 2013 models will be available in Australia from October, 2012, with price still to be confirmed. Contact your local Husaberg dealer for more information.
