2013 BMW off-road training courses
Nine two-day courses all up, open to riders of all levels and to be held across NSW, Qld, Vic and WA. The first course will be held on June 15-16 in NSWBMW Motorrad Australia has announced details of its 2013 off-road training courses. Details are as follows:
- NSW -- June 15-16, August 23-24 and 25-26 at Dargle Valley
- Qld -- August 30-31, September 1-2 at Green Park, Sunshine Coast
- Vic -- November 15-16 and 17-18 at Broadford
- WA -- November 15-16 and 17-18 at Kirrup, south of Perth
The courses are specifically designed for BMW GS riders of all levels. Some of the skills covered during the two-day courses are:
- How to lift, balance and manoeuvre a motorcycle in awkward situations;
- Slow-speed manoeuvring and control;
- Correct body position/balance;
- Throttle and clutch control;
- Cornering;
- Braking;
- Ascending and descending hills safely and confidently; and
- Riding over/around obstacles.
Cost is $685 on your own bike, or $985 with a G 650 GS Sertao (limited availability, not available in WA). Morning and afternoon refreshments and lunch are included in the entry fee.
All courses are conducted by BMW Motorrad's Authorised Training Partner, Moto Development, an off-road training specialist. Bookings at www.bmwmotorrad.com.au.
