The 2013 BMW GS Safari has been pencilled in for October 20 to 25 and will take place in the Victorian High Country.
The annual event is touted as "one of the world's longest running and most successful customer ride events" and is an excuse for a couple of hundred like minded riders to explore the less travelled parts of Australia.
The BMW GS Safari has been run since 1994 and then in 2005 the Safari was split into the GS (off-road) and TS (road) events as it gained popularity.
The 2013 GS Safari will wend its way through some of Australia's most picturesque high country, ups mountains, down dale, and everywhere inbetween as its organisers promise an 'adventure rider's paradise'.
Registrations for the event open on May 15 and you can register interest at BMWsafari.com or Facebook.com/BMWsafari.
There will also be a two-day refresher "training course" that will be held a few days ahead of the GS Safari for off-road riders who may be feeling a little rusty.
The 2012 BMW GS Safari that ran followed the Great Dividing Range through NSW attracted around 170 riders between the ages of 19 and 72 and, as always, the event gets full factory support so if something goes wrong, it'll always be fixed.
Tony Sesto, BMW Motorrad Australia and New Zealand General Manager, said places fill fast so riders should register when the roster opens in mid May.
"The GS Safari is a great event and gives the opportunity for all BMW GS riders to enjoy magnificent riding country in the company of like minded enthusiasts. Last year the limited places filled quickly, so I would advise riders to avoid disappointment by registering as soon as possible", said Sesto.
