BMW Motorrad has a new bike in its line-up – the F 800 GT. Boasting five more horsepower than the bike it replaces, the F 800 ST, the belt-driven F 800 GT has a full fairing for optimised weather protection, improved ergonomics, and improved luggage efficacy in true “Gran Turismo” style.
In line with BMW’s new blanket policy across all its models, anti-lock braking is standard, and options include traction control and electronic suspension adjustment.
Other technical highlights include:
New, lighter wheels in dynamic design
Enhanced seating comfort for rider and passenger
New handlebar switch panels and front brake fluid expansion tank
New vibration-free and double-butted aluminium handlebars
Cockpit with new dial faces for speedometer and engine speed display as well as an extended range of information
Load capacity increased by 11kg to 207kg
New exhaust system with optimised heel protection
Newly developed luggage system (special accessory)
New connection of BMW Motorrad Navigator IV to handlebar clamp (special accessory)
The new F 800 GT can also be fitted with an Akrapovic sports silencer. Crafted from titanium and stainless steel, it’s 1.7kg lighter than the standard silencer.
The F 800 GT is expected to arrive late in the first quarter of 2013, with pricing still to be announced.
