2012 WSBK tickets under the Xmas tree

It's not a fanciful idea, and can happen if you act by December 16, 2011. The Phillip Island WSBK will be held from February 24-26

Would you rather dig out an ingrown toenail than Christmas shop at a megaplex, complete with car park rage? If you fall under that umbrella and you’re still a bit light on for presents this year, how about buying your loved one(s) a ticket to the 2012 Superbike World Championship round at Victoria’s spectacular Phillip Island?

The event will be held from February 24-26, but the most important deadline is Friday, December 1. If you buy on-line at www.worldsbk.com.au by then, you’ll have your tickets express posted and under the tree for Christmas.

A superstar field of the globe’s best Superbike racers will be assembled at Phillip Island, including Spain’s world champion Carlos Checa, Italian veteran Max Biaggi, the hard-charging charging Jonathan Rea, Briton Leon Haslam, Italian Marco Melandri and Ireland’s Eugene Laverty.

There will also be world Supersport racing at Phillip Island, as well as four national support categories guaranteeing on-track action from go-to-whoa on all three days of the event.

Ticket details

  • A Sunday race day ticket (general admission) is $75* for more than eight hours of action.
  • A three-day general admission ticket is $135*.
  • Or for a real treat, splash out and buy a BAR SBK ticket for $250*.  This three-day pass gives access to three undercover and licensed viewing locations at the circuit’s best locations – turn one, turn five and turn eight. Your BAR SBK pass allows you access to these prime viewing spots at any time over the three days.
  • Three-day family ticket for two adults and two children* (or one adult and three children*) for $270* advance purchase.
  • Want a place to lay your head? Pitch your tent at the circuit campground** just near Southern Loop and chill out with great views, an ocean breeze and no traffic hassles.  Kids under 15 camp free in 2012, and adults pay $100 for four nights under the stars.
  • And if you purchase a three-day general admission ticket before December 16, you could be one of four lucky winners to be on the starting grid for world Superbike’s race one at the Island.

*   plus handling/postage charges
** Campground charge – four nights camping for $100* per adult with kids under 15 free
