If you fancy your trial riding skills, your international calling is nigh. Motorcycling Australia (MA) has announced that applications are open for the 2012 Trial des Nations, which will be held in Moutier, Switzerland, from September 29 to 30.
The world's best trials riders, including the freakish Toni Bou from Spain, regularly attend the event to ride in their country's colours, and in 2011 Australia just missed out on a podium finish, when the Aussie foursome of Tim Coleman, Neil Price Boyd Willcocks and Kyle Middleton came through with a strong finish in the event in Italy.
MA is looking for four male riders and three female riders, and one team manager will also be appointed to oversee the team's preparations and logistics.
According to MA, competitors will be overseas for "approximately 10 - 14 days" and travelling dates are still being nailed down.
If you're interested in applying for a position in what is fast becoming one of the world's most important trials events, download and print out the form from MA.org.au/forms, and return it to MA by COB Monday 30 April.
More details and information on the criteria and responsibilities of the team rider and managerial positions can be found on the application forms. You can also check out the FIM sanctioned event at FIM-live.com. Good luck!
