2012 Toy Run: December 9

The annual Toy Run is already an institution, and this year there will be trade stalls, displays and entertainment for adults and kids alike
The 2012 MRA Toy Run – the 35th such gathering -- will be held on Sunday, December 9 at Calder Park Raceway in Melbourne’s outer west. The event is run to increase support and awareness of the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal through toys and non-perishable food.
Every year thousands of motorcyclists and scooterists meet at various points around the state, and converge on a nominated precinct trying to outdo one another with outlandish decorations on their rides, their clothes and on their helmets.
Although the day is centred on the motorcyclists and their delivery of toys and food for the needy, this year there will be plenty to see and do, including a motorcycle show and shine, trade stalls, displays, a band, and the “Lukey Luke” stunt rider show will again amaze the crowds.
There will be face painting and jumping castles for the little ones, and the children will also be able to see Santa on his famous Tuk Tuk Santa Trike from 1.30-2.00pm.
