2011 Triumph Daytona 675R breaks cover

Leaked photos reveal Triumph's new and exotic up-spec Daytona 675R sports bike, designed to take on the Japanese 600cc models

Photos of what appears to be a new and high-spec version of Triumph's Daytona 675 three-cylinder supersport bike have been leaked in advance of the model's official launch at this year's EICMA Motorcycle Show, due to get underway in Milan, Italy, from November 2.

While Triumph is remaining tight-lipped, Bikesales Network's sources indicate the 2011 Daytona 675R is an up-specced version that will be sold alongside the standard bike.

Judging by the photos, the new 675R is bristling with premium gear, including Ohlins suspension, radial-mount Brembo brakes, plenty of carbonfibre and a trick paint job. It's thought that a quickshifter will also be a part of the 675R's package, which will sell for a premium over the standard bike's price.

The Daytona 675 has won widespread international acclaim since its introduction in 2006, winning several awards around the globe.

The model underwent a significant revision for 2009, receiving a new exhaust system and cylinder head, a taller first gear, updated styling and updated Nissin brakes. The end result of the tinkering saw the bike drop 3kg and gain 3hp.
