Suzuki has unveiled the final generation of its 800cc GSV-R four-stroke prototype, with the MotoGP class to return to a one-litre formula in 2011.
This year’s machine, to be ridden by Spaniard Alvaro Bautista, features a smorgasbord of changes, with Suzuki claiming more horsepower, driveability, durability, and improved acceleration out of slower corners. The ECO software has also been uprated to “give Bautista more precise traction and wheelie-control without losing direct machine control or power”.
To complement the upgraded engine specifications, Suzuki has also played with the frame and swingarm to “optimise the weight-balance geometries”.
The 2011 Rizla Suzuki GSV-R also features revised Troy Lee Designs-inspired livery.
The machine will make its official debut during this weekend's final pre-season test in Qatar, before making its racing debut - also at Qatar - on Sunday, March 20.
The Australian round of MOtoGP will be held at Phllip Island from October 14-16.
