The next generation of Suzuki's GSX-R750 sportsbike is here, with the 2011-spec version of the model recently going on sale across Australia. The only volume-production 750-class sportsbike on the market, the new model heralds a number of updates and refinements.
Suzuki says the latest version of the marque's SDVT (Suzuki Dual Throttle Valve) delivers a broader spread of power, improved throttle response and lower emissions, while the wheelbase is now slightly shorter, and the redesigned bodywork is even lighter and more aerodynamic.
An all-new five-piece, twin-spar alloy frame is complemented by a new Showa Big Piston front fork, while a reshaped tank, new bodywork, vertically-stacked dual headlights and integrated mirror/turn indicators deliver a sharp new look. The bike's instrumentation now features timer and stopwatch functions.
The 2011 GSX-R750 is available in either Metallic Triton Blue/Glass Splash White or Glass Sparkle Black for $16,990 (plus on-road costs).
In other Suzuki news, the 2011-spec Bandit 1250 has also gone on sale. The big-bore naked bike is powered by a smooth and torquey in-line four-cylinder powerplant, and the bike is available in both standard and ABS-equipped formats. The new Bandit 1250 is available in Pearl Black for $12,090 (plus on-road costs), or $500 more for the ABS version.
