Powered by a detuned version of the Suzuki GSX-R750's 148hp in-line four-cylinder engine, Suzuki has released a sketch of the new model that will make its public debut at Intermot 2010 in Cologne, Germany.
Though it hasn't been green lit for Australian consumption, the new GSR750 will be introduced into Europe where these sorts of street bikes are very popular, where it will compete for market and mind share with the likes of the Yamaha FZ8 and Kawasaki Z750R.
From what we can glean from this teaser sketch, the 2011 Suzuki GSR750 may miss out on the GSX-R750's radial-mount brake calipers, and most of the chassis will probably be pared back to meet a lower price point.
The front forks and rear suspension are likely to forgo full adjustability and the engine will be tuned for mid range punch rather than top end scream as is case with its GSX-R cousin.
The body work and tank design is largely angular, providing the middleweight naked with an aggressive and somewhat menacing image.
