2011 Super X Club Challenge
A relay team race at all five rounds of this year's championship, with the winning club picking up a cool $10,000 for its effortsThe 2011 Monster Energy Super X – the battle for the Australian Supercross Championship – will feature a unique club battle.
The Super X Club Challenge will run as a relay team race at every round and is open to any club and its riders (supercross endorsed) in Australia. Each team will consist of three riders -- one apiece from Open, Lites and Under 19 -- with points tallied from every round to crown the winning club at the championship decider in Ipswich (Qld) on November 19.
Based on the format of the popular Australia versus USA team challenge, which featured as an exhibition race in 2010, each team member will complete one lap before tagging their next teammate, who is then free to set off.
There will be a $10,000 prize pool on offer: a $5000 cash prize from the promoter that will be matched with $5000 from Monster Energy to go towards club development.
Meanwhile, a Pit Bike cup will also be introduced to the championship, with details still being finalised.
