2011 MX Nationals calendar settled
A couple of movements, but the Australian championship remains a nine-round affair, kicking off in Broadford on March 6The 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals calendar has been revised.
The second round, originally scheduled for March 20 at Raymond Terrace (NSW), has been moved to 10 April and now has round three status.
To that end, Appin (NSW) will become round two of the championship, moving to April 3. There are no other adjustments to the calendar, which is as follows:
- Rd1 Broadford, Vic March 13
- Rd2 Appin, NSW April 3
- Rd3 Raymond Terrace, NSW April 10
- Rd4 Murray Bridge, SA May 8
- Rd5 Toowoomba, Qld May 22
- Rd6 Coonabarabran, NSW June 19
- Rd7 Wodonga, Vic July 3
- Rd8 Moree, NSW July 23-24
- Rd9 Coolum, Qld July 30-31
Broadford, Toowoomba, Raymond Terrace, Wodonga, Moree and Coolum retain their places on the calendar, while Appin, Murray Bridge and Coonabarabran are fresh additions.
Meanwhile, Tasmania and Western Australia remain without rounds, but the championship promoter, WEM, is investigating travel assistance options for privateers in those states who are planning on competing across all rounds in 2011.
At this stage, WEM is proposing that the Under 19 and Pro Lites classes compete in two back-to-back races at each round, with the Pro Open riders pumping out four back-to-back motos.
