Honda has announced an addition to its twist-and-go scooter family – the Dio – with the machine set to go on sale Down Under in September. It's another global release, following on from the landmark PCX125.
The Dio -- called a Vision in other markets -- is powered by a 110cc four-stoke engine with Honda’s signature PGM-F1 fuel-injection system, producing 8.3hp at 8000rpm and 8.7Nm at 6500rpm.
It holds 5.5 litres of fuel, which Honda claims is good for around 280km of travel! That’s not quite two litres per 100km.
Other key features include combined ABS (the left brake lever controls the rear 130mm drum and 220 front disc, and the right lever the front alone), 14-inch cast aluminium wheels, a raft of storage compartments and hooks.
Price is still to be announced for the Dio.
Honda’s scooter presence in Australia currently totals five models, extending from the tiddler Today 50 to the 279cc SH300i.
You can check all those models in Bike Showroom, as well as all the other scooters in the Aussie market.
