Last month, the Bikesales Network attended the Club BRP two-day event in New Zealand, which is designed to showcase the Canadian company's latest products, sold to more than 100 countries around the world.
At the shindig, a brand new product was unveiled – the Can-Am Commander side-by-side vehicle.
The Commander is the latest side-by-side to hit the market in recent times, with Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco also getting in on the act.
The Commander will come in two engine configurations when it goes on sale in Australia early next year -- a Rotax 800 V-twin or Rotax 1000 V-twin, both fuel-injected. Rotax is also owned by Bombardier.
As well as its obvious design attributes as a utility vehicle, the Commander also has a fair bit of sporting flair, as evidenced by V8 Supercar driver Greg Murphy throwing the machine around in Queenstown during Club BRP, eking every ounce of power out of the 1000cc V-twin.
The 800cc machine (available in yellow) will sell for $19,699, and there will be two 1000cc versions – the XT (yellow $24,349, camo $24,050) and the X (in yellow for $24,989).
