2011 Bike Company of the year

Let's see which companies are peeling off the straight coat and forging ahead in what are still jittery times for motorcycle manufacturers across the globe

Mark Fattore: Bikesales Network editor
Triumph. A few years ago, it made a promise to keep delivering new bikes until it reached a model line-up around the 25 mark, and it hasn’t gone back on its word – despite the international economy still wobbling along at a slow pace. That takes some fortitude. Honourable mention: Aprilia for producing bikes from the sublime (Tuono) to the downright animal (Dorsoduro 1200).

Husqvarna for doing something (very) different. The Nuda 900 isn't a game changer, but it has done for Husqvarna what Obama did for the American psyche. Vote Nuda! The Strada is also coming along nicely and if Husqvarna can keep creating dramatically different road bikes, it could cement itself as a Ducati-like company with more badge cachet than it knows what to do with.

Rod Chapman: Bikesales Network contributor
Aprilia, for producing some truly stunning machines – specifically the Tuono V4R APRC, the RSV4 Factory APRC and the 1200 Dorsoduro – and offering them at super-competitive prices.

Martin Child: Bikesales Network contributor

KTM. A major revamp of its off-road range while the rest of the motorcycling world licks its wounds.
