2010 Suzuki DR-Z400S/DR-Z400SM

Suzuki reveals 2010 DR-Z trail and Super Motard models, the latter getting a funky new look

The 2010 model year is delivering more updated motorbikes than you can shake a conrod at, with a couple of Suzuki's perennially popular DR-Z models the latest to get an update.

Like many mainstream bikes, the changes to the MY10 bikes are minimal - thank the global financial crisis in part - restricted to cosmetic tweaks for the most part.

The 2010 Suzuki DR-Z400S dual purpose trail bike gets a new-look dark colour scheme and keeps all the bits that make it a good motorcycle: the 398cc four-stroke DOHC engine, long travel suspension, electric starter, digital instrumentation and 250mm and 220mm front and rear disc brakes respectively.

And then there is Suzuki's 2010 model Super Motard DR-Z400SM, which also gets a new white colour scheme and some trick-looking anodised blue Excel rims to match it's street tyres, providing the bike with an attention-grabbing look.

All Suzuki DR-Z models are based on a chrome-moly frame, and the Super Motard DR-Z400SM also comes with RM-Z-spec 47mm upside down front forks.

Unlike its off-road brethren, the DR-Z400SM gets bigger brakes: 310mm front and 240mm rear discs.

Pricing for both 2010 Suzuki models remains unchanged $8290 for the DR-Z400S and $8890 for the Super Motard DR-Z400 SM (not including dealer and government charges).
