Kawasaki has given its popular beginner bike, the KLX110, a thorough makeover for 2010, with the four-stroke single now pumping out 15 percent more torque and horsepower through a four-speed gearbox - one more cog than the current model.
Electric start is now standard fare on the four-stroke air-cooled single, which has revised valve timing, a free-flowing new exhaust, a new ignition and low-tension piston rings.
There are two variants of the bike: the standard KLX110 and now a bigger sibling, the KLX110L.
The KLX110 has an automatic centrifugal clutch, while the KLX110, whose seat is 50mm taller thanks to longer suspension travel, has a manual clutch for those riders who want to push the envelope just a little bit more.
A taller, reshaped seat is part of the deal too, along with a handlebar bend optimised to provide excellent comfort and control to a large variety of riders. In other words, the L model one's for big kids of all ages.
The petrol tank, seat, side panels, shrouds and fenders on both machines have also been designed to replicate the KX450F.
The KLX110 is priced at $3699, and the KLX110L $3899. Both models are on sale now.
