2009 world speedway roster

Crump and Adams go around again, Sullivan a reserve

Jason Crump and Leigh Adams will again be the only two Australian riders in next year's Speedway World Championship, after the full 15-rider roster was released by the FIM and the promoter, BSI Speedway.

The duo was automatic qualifiers for 2009, while former GP winner Ryan Sullivan has been listed as a "qualified substitute" alongside five other riders. Sullivan has not raced in the world title since 2005.

The full 2009 roster is as follows:

Nicholls, Lindgren, Harris and Sajfutdinov have been given 'permanent' wildcard status. The latter is a 19-year-old Russian star who has won two world junior speedway titles.

Melbourne has been pencilled in to conclude next year's championship, but the round is still to be confirmed.
