BRP has unveiled a turbo charged version of its already potent Maverick X3 side-by-side vehicle, with the triple now producing a heady 172hp.
The up-spec Maverick X3 is part of the 2018 Can-Am off-road line-up just announced by BRP, which also includes refinements across all the side-by-side families and specialty ATV packages.
“The 2018 Can-Am line-up reflects the passion and exhilaration we bring to people,” said Anne- Marie LaBerge, BRP's senior VP, Global Brands & Communications.
“Along with expanding our Maverick X3 and Defender family of off-road vehicles, we have enriched our recreational-utility category Can-Am Commander and Outlander ATV segments with added performance, improved value and more specialty packages. Our expanded list of genuine accessories also adds more convenience and customization levels.”
Side-by-sides
The turbo Maverick X3 is now unquestionably the most powerful factory-built side-by-side vehicle on the market. It delivers 12 per cent more horsepower and 10 per cent more torque than the normally aspirated version, and is claimed to go from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds.
Meanwhile, the Defender sports-utility family now includes a MAX HD8 base package, and the Commander 1000R receives a performance jump to 92hp, a wider stance and larger brakes.
ATV
Inspired by a Can-Am heritage model, the Outlander X xc 1000R ATV makes a return in 2018, while the all-new Outlander North Edition ATV, available in one-up and MAX platforms, also includes an exclusive equipment package for cold weather and a super low L gear for hard work.
The Outlander Mossy Oak Hunting Edition ATV family now includes three available engine packages, while a new Outlander 450 package joins the existing 570 and 1000R Rotax V-Twin-powered offerings.
The Outlander North Edition and Mossy Oak Hunting Edition ATVs are only available in specific markets.
BRP Australia is yet to announce price or availability for the 2018 Can-Am off-road range.
