Kawasaki introduced the Jet Ski name to the world in the mid 1970s (a term that has become so powerful it’s practically become the generic expression for personal watercraft – like Stanley knife has for cutting tools).
The manufacturer now has six models in its local line-up, from the stand-up 800 SX-R to the massively potent Ultra 260X with its exhilarating performance figures: 260hp (191kW) and 240Nm. The throttle bodies on the 1500cc Ultra alone measure 60mm, if you don’t mind.
I’m hoping to get my PWC licence next week, but perhaps the Ultra might be a little too much for a first outing ….
And let’s not forget the middleweight cruisers for the free insurance offer: the Vulcan 900 Classic and Vulcan 900 Custom.
