The Street Bob (FXDB) and Super Glide Custom (FXDC) are set to be the pariahs in Harley-Davidson’s 2012 model line-up, as they’ll be the only models to remain powered by the company’s 96 cubic inch mill.
The Bikesales Network has been doing some investigating (no phone tapping or computer hacking though…) and our intel tells us that “in response to continual customer demand for more power” all 2012 models except the aforementioned duo will come standard with the 103 cubic inch engine, complete with beefed-up clutch springs and the company’s ACR (automatic compression release).
In the 2011 model year, all the Touring models adopted the 103 cubic inch engine.
Other 2012 updates include tubeless laced wheels on some models, and the VSRC range will have some trick 10th anniversary finishes, including a chrome powertrain and special graphics.
The Night Rod (VRSCDX) has also been given a decent overhaul, with changes to the rear section, front end and ergonomics.
We expect full details on the 2012 model range to be released by the end of July.
