From dirt roads to challenging terrains, Caballero Rally is made for adventure – the dirtier the road, the greater the pleasure. Possessing off-road soul with scrambler elegance.
The result is instant response and fiery acceleration, the Caballero braarping up through the gears at an impressive rate, with the occasional pop from the pipe on the overrun just adding to the experience. Like a good supermoto single, the Fantic is happiest when accelerating hard.
Learner legal, this motorcycle is perfect for those new to the motorcycling scene. The motor responds instantly to a heavily sprung throttle. A sticky gearbox and taught drive train drives the bike forward with a solid but swift momentum. The throaty twin Arrow pipes are a perfect balance between obnoxious and muffled. They are cleverly designed to wrap neatly in a rectangle around the front of the engine and are integrated with a catalyser. Longer pipes = more torque! Plus, it mirrors the big radiator above it, which balances out nicely.
The Rally's big-ticket item is Olle forks and rear shock from Spain, with 200mm of travel at each end. Both are multi-adjustable for damping (plus pre-load on the rear) and are a step up from the standard Scrambler items. Allied to a simple tubular slim steel frame and the Caballero's low weight, they deliver fine handling, while the wide Tomasselli bars make it easy to tip the bike into a corner.
On the road, the steering is light and the seating position is comfortable for all types of rides. The ABS brakes work exactly how they need to in traffic, but can also be flicked off for some off-road runs. Plenty of seat available for a passenger or luggage for adventures out of town.
This is a no-frills bike, which is part of its appeal, so there are no riding modes, and the instrumentation is minimalist, just a digital speedo with tiny wee fuel and battery gauges.

Reviewed by Michael Neeves from MCN: For the kind of machine where low speed thrills, lightweight simplicity and style is more important than brute power and technology, the Caballero Rally 500 is a credible and affordable alternative to the retro mainstream. It looks fantastic, is well equipped, fun and with its rugged styling and longer travel suspension the Fantic has a proper ‘big bike’ feel to it. For the full review, check out
