There are fast bikes, and then there’s the Brutale 1090R. Often described as the pinnacle of hyper-nakeds, this machine is quintessentially Italian: thrilling, aggressive, refined, and dripping with charisma. Powered by the legendary F4-derived inline-four engine, it delivers raw, exhilarating performance with just the right touch of modern electronic refinement. When I purchased this bike, I test-rode the KTM SuperDuke 1290 and Ducati Monster 1200, two giants of the naked class. Neither came close to the Brutale’s visceral experience. Compared to the Ducati, the MV’s electronics are beautifully straightforward, letting you feel the true muscle of the engine, yet still offering 8-level traction control, Bosch 9+ ABS with Brembo brakes, rear wheel lift mitigation, and a user-friendly “Normal” ride mode.
