Ducati Sport 1000S, 48531 kilometres. A rare beauty in black and only produced in 2009, this is one of only 1500 made by the factory which makes it rarer than a Paul Smart replica. A classic bike paying homage to the bevels of the 70s, at its heart is the twin spark 1000DS two valve aircooled motor (992cc, 92 horsepower (67.7 kW) @ 8,000 rpm and 67.3 lb-ft (91 Nm) of torque @ 6,000 rpm. With modern running gear, this bike is sure to give you a good feeling every time you start it up and ride it. It has that “cornering on rails” stability for which Ducatis are renowned, aided by a standard steering damper and has plenty of torque and power with a lovely exhaust burble. The 1000S wears black spoked light Excel wheels which are lighter than the standard rims on the GT. This is a one owner bike from new and has been regularly dealer serviced and cared for over the 17 years of its existence. It is a standard bike with tasteful modifications including clear armour paint protection, carbon fibre front guard, cambelt covers and rear hugger, Andreani fork cartridges, Termignoni pipes with performance ECU and airbox and ceramic coated header pipes and Ducati performance alarm - in addition to the standard immobiliser - (all OEM original parts included in the sale). It has had its 48,000 k desmo service and has low mileage (3,500ks) on its Pirelli Rosso IV tyres. The standard Sachs rear shock absorbers have recently been refurbished by Chris Jones and the forks have fresh oil. The bike has that solid proprietary feeling (including standard heavy clutch) that you just dont get anymore. If you like that old school Ducati sports bike feeling, but in modern packaging and without the hassles of owning a bevel, then you should have a look at the SportClassic. Comes with manual, service booklet, full servicing records from new, spare key, red key and code card. Current QLD rego until October 2026 and will come with a RWC for QLD buyers.
