Selling my 2008 690 Enduro workhorse to get something lighter for more casual riding. Good condition for its age, with low km. Absolute weapon if you want serious grunt on a mid-size bike. Goes hard a screams with FMF titanium exhaust. Currently set up as a medium distance adventure touring bike and completed the KTM New Zealand Adventure Rallye ably alongside the bigger 1090, 1190 and 1290 Adventure bikes. New buyer may prefer to keep it as such, or strip it back to 'big dirt bike' status.
>>> UPDATE: December 2024: New fuel injector, fresh clutch, new clutch gears, new battery, new valves and valve seals, new radiator hoses, and more. Refreshed and adventure ready. Fresh South Australian registration.
Lots of add-ons fitted to this bike / recent parts upgrades include:
- Seat Concepts seat ($500): MUCH more comfortable than standard bench...
- Near new KTM race radiator installed by KTM race team ($1,180)
- 14L Safari Tank ($800): takes total fuel capacity to 26L, have ridden more than 500km on highway without refill
- Cleanspeed custom billet brake pedal and dropped pedal pad ($250): way stronger, and better looking to boot
- Upgrade billet shifter pedal (for the same reasons!)
- FMF Powercore titanium exhaust ($500): sounds amazing, can hear it from other side of the mountain
- B&B Offroad Engineering bashplate ($250): essential
- CJ Designs billet fuel cap with built in filter ($200)
- Tusk luggage top plate and pannier racks ($400) - original hard case mounting plates included
- Barkbusters hand guards ($200)
- Doubletake folding adventure mirrors ($100): with RAM mounts
- 690 Supermoto front fender ($50): shorter, better looking than standard 690 Enduro fender
- 12v socket for electrical accessories
- New KTM grips
- Rear foot pegs mounted to Tusk rack if you have a +1
Bike is currently wearing Mitas E12 (R) and E13 (F) desert race tyres, both ~50% remaining. Sale will also include a pair of Heidenau K60s Scout 50/50 dual sport tyres for on-road riding if you prefer something a bit smoother on tarmac.
Also have quite a few original parts on hand (in Sydney): original hand guards, mirrors, shifter pedal, foot pegs, etc as per photo, plus a spare RAM mount for GPS / phone / other accessories - can get these if you want them.
Potential recommendations for the new buyer: (1) re-wrap safari tank as paint has chipped off, (2) replace headlight fairing (note: front indicators mounting bungs worn out and reinforced with duct tape).
For sale 'as is, where is'. Will organise collection with buyer depending on location.
