The perfect bike for a weekend warrior, or for those that love the vintage look but don’t want the headaches of upkeep.
This SR 400 has never let me down.
The original owner picked it up from Deus Ex Machina where it was designed as a custom called “The Badger”.
Since it’s been mind, I have spent some time on some making some additions specifically the switch to 50-50 Continental tyres, new mirrors, new muffler, lights and battery.
Outside of that and annual servicing the bike has been nothing but reliable, hasn’t skipped to beat an easy to get started even if it’s been a little while.
Yamaha kept this vintage design going from the early 1970’s to date; with the 2000s models getting the best of both worlds vintage design and mechanically sound to modern standards. Note the bike only comes with a kickstart that is incredibly easy to use, so no electronic start.
Storage wise the bike has always been kept in a garage and cleaned regularly.
I’m sad to let it go, but I am about to embark on a vintage build of my own.
