What can I say, what a great bike in the best and most appropriate colour, the original hyperbike that started it all. If you've landed here you know what you're looking for, do yourself a favour and come take this gem home. But first, for your own piece of mind, read MCNs review of the Blackbird.
Bought from the original owner in Dec 2024 as my long awaited hero bike, this is a genuine 2 owner Bird and in original and excellent condition down to factory pipes and the original screen. He loved this bike for almost 20years to the day and I've done the same in my care.
Sounds cliche but it really is a phenomenal bike. Point this to the open road with a pillion and chuck a days worth of stuff in the pack rack and saddle up for miles of smiles. The replaced rear shock is set up for two up riding as it is. If you prefer your rides without endless tech and interruptive ride aids, this is the bike for you, a pure motorcycling experience with legendary Honda (over)engineering, these were made for speed and made to last with timeless design that doesn't date. The internet buzz is that Honda might be releasing a CBR1400XX Super Blackbird, who knows if they will though, or if it'll be as revolutionary as this bike is.
I'd planned on keeping this for a very long time but I'm selling it now as my family is moving interstate and with my Defence job, Uni and my commuter bike, I rarely get the opportunity to ride this beauty; the next few years will present even less of an opportunity to ride it sadly.
Fully serviced @ 53032km in March 25 (engine oil flush and new oil and oil filter, iridium spark plugs, OEM spec coolant with radiator flush, air filter, fuel system cleaner), new battery (March 26), I've replaced the cam chain tensioner with an OEM unit, which didn't need it but apparently these were not great from the factory, better safe than sorry. Mechanically in excellent condition, buttery smooth acceleration and crisp combined braking, starts first time every time. Good Pirelli Angel GT tyres. The bike lives under a cover in the garage and on the trickle charger unless its being ridden.
Comes with 2 keys, original and iridium screens, complete original tool kit, foam pussy grips, RAM mount phone holder, sheepskin saddle cover (on since new), Ventura pack rack and bag, new unfitted in tank fuel filter, sealed new DOT4 brake fluid, the remainder of the OEM spec coolant, owners manual, all the paperwork I have for it and the running spreadsheet I've kept updated since I bought the bike with everything on it.
The only issue (literally) is there's some slight LCD fade on the digital display, still works fine and you can see it well enough and I think the fix is easy enough, I just never got to it, you can see what I mean in the final photo.
I'd suggest this is not suitable as a first bike after a LAMS bike, whilst its really a very easy bike to ride, it was designed to be blisteringly fast and you'd have no problems losing your drivers license on it very quickly and thus more suited to an experienced rider.
I'm an honest dude and I'm only too happy to answer your questions in the same manner, call or text me after 5:30pm. I have more pics and am happy to send you pics of anything you like, let me know what you need.
I'm not in a hurry to sell this and I'll kindly ask that if you're wheeler dealer or a lowballer, don't call me with ludicrous offers. Happy for test rides but you'll need to have the listed price handed over before you do, I think that's very fair.
I'm looking to sell, not interested in swaps and the price is firm. This is a good honest bike and has so many good miles left in it, it'll be sad to see it go but sadder still to go mostly unridden.
