Selling my 1999 Yamaha R1 owned for the last 9yrs, has been a great bike. Suspension is set up for a 90kg rider by the suspension smith Canberra, and tuned by Moto garage.
Bike still runs and rides beautifully, I’m a motorbike mechanic so all servicing has been done by me over the years. Unfortunately my receipts have been lost when I moved. But the mechanical condition of the bike is excellent very clean. Can supply some like Dyno sheet and some older recipes.
I do still ride this bike but very rarely now as I work fifo. Priced to sell as bike was build for performance not OEM in mind.
PPSR report shows it was a repairable write off in 2005 for light panel damage. Report in photos. Obviously not an issue the bike as be registered for the last 21 years.

- New spark plugs
- New fuel filter.
- Brembo front and rear pads fitted.
- Chain and Sprocket are about 2yrs old
- New fuel level sensor.
I have a few spare parts for it eg: sprockets, brake levers rear foot pegs and front pegs, spare master cylinder. Quad Carb balance kit as I check the balance after every service.
Cons
- Has a small dent on side of tank (see in photos).
- Fairings are original but have a few cracks in them from wear and tear. See photos
- Frame has paint rubbed off in one area has been there from when I bought it,
- Paint job is average home job, never got around to getting it redone as I liked the why it looked.
- Stone chips on rear rim.
