Yes - it's one of the BMW unicorns.
One of the 25 Federal Police Bikes that were specified as RS with S fairings. BMW refuse to acknowledge them and claim all records were lost. Authenticated by the plate confirming type approval by the Australian authorities on the top surface of the swinging arm and the frame and engine numbers. I came with a blue seat and crash bar mountings for sirens and lights.
I imported this one from the UK 11 years ago (I also had it's sister bike as well - 2 numbers apart, which was sold to a guy in Italy).
What's not original:
- Tank was replaced due to the original tank having a rusty drain tube (I still have the tank and can supply with the bike)
- Clock and voltmeter were replaced with modern electronic ones (I think I still have the originals in the garage, I'll need to dig them out)
I used it for recreation until I parked it up a few years ago. As a result the hoses and seals have degraded.
What needs to be done:
- Front fork seals
- Rear engine seal
- Engine pushrod seals
- Rear brake hose
Also included:
- The original white panniers (shown in an old photo when I had a different screen on it). I also have the black panniers and can chuck a set in for $500 if you want them as well.
- Full original toolkit
The bike is fully registered. The number plate will not be transferred with the bike if purchased in WA.
It runs flawlessly and is a joy to ride. Can keep up in the twisties with many modern bikes.
Was a better bike to ride than the R90S (and I should know as I've owned a lot of them as well!).
This bike is the rarest of the rare.
