Four-time Dakar Rally champion Cyril Despres has been fined by Andorran authorities for riding in the principality without a permit

More than 140,000 people have watched Dakar Rally champ Cyril Despres and his buddy, professional mountain biker Cedric Gracia, ride their KTM 350 Freeride dirt bikes through the Andorran Pyrenees on You Tube.

The video (see below) is up to the usual KTM standard -- cool music, funky camera angles, plenty of nice manoeuvres, stunning locales -- but Andorran officials weren't very happy about it.

Despite Despres and Gracia both being Andorran residents, they were slapped with fines for not obtaining the necessary permits to 'freeride' around the Pyrenees.

According to reports, they could be fined up to €500. However, we have a sneaking suspicion KTM will probably cover the penalty.

Hopefully when the boys show off the highly-anticipated electric KTM Freeride E -- the first electric dirt bike from a mainstream manufacturer -- they'll acquire the correct permits.
